The Steelstown U14 girls (ably backed up by the U12s) continued to demonstrate how well they are gelling as a team with a great home victory in a friendly against Moville.

A final score of 4-16 to 1-10 was achieved with every girl playing their part on a fine sunny afternoon at the home pitch. With Aoife O’Reilly once again making outstanding saves and providing great service to the outfield players.

The ring of steel Evie Doherty, Niamh Doherty and Orlaith McGough upset and harried the Moville attack and Catherine McGuigan, Niamh Friel and Riona Harkin provided outstanding support to the excellent Sarah Kelly and captain Clodagh Laverty.

The ball was passing well through the team from defense to the attackers Leah McGonagle, Jade McCarry, Dearbhla Mooney, Maeve Mooney the tireless Cara Laverty and Cliodhna Nelis and super subs Hannnah Lang and Pauline Roberts. To the delight of coaches and supporters the girls demonstrated hard work on a hot day and provided a lesson in how to take their points from distance. Well done all!
