Under 8s will meet this Saturday at our Clubhouse for St Patrick’s Day Art Workshop 10.00am to 12.00noon. Wednesday Gaelic Fundamentals for P1 – P3 will take place indoors at the Clubhouse from 5.30 pm – 6.15pm, parents and adult help will be needed. All under 8s will return to Saturday morning outdoor training on Saturday 24th March at Leafair 3g pitch.
The Fundamentals for P1 – P3 scheduled for Wednesday will have to be postponed by one week due to the floor being painted in our sports hall. This will now start on Wednesday 1st March at 5.30pm.
This is an 8 week course. We would encourage as many new players to come along as well as our regular players. We also need parents / adults to stay and help. This is really important as the more help we have, the more the children benefit. In April we hope to run child protection & foundation coaching. Getting involved in the fundamentals programme is a great way to develop your interest and to share the enjoyment of sport with your children. Any queries, please call Mark on 07789925204 or email mjrabbett@hotmail.com.

Charlene Griffiths
Passed To Her Eternal Reward
14/01/2012
Ar Dhéis Dé go Raibh a hAnam Uasal
It is with great sadness that CLG Bhriain OIg Bhaile Stil announces the untimely death our Ladies Captain, Underage Coach, Former Cultural Officer, and exemplary Gael, “Charlene Griffiths” at the young age of 27.
Charlene was a life long member of our club and participated in all aspects of club life both as a player and administrator. She also represented the club at both junior and senior Scor.
Charlene was a past pupil of Thornhill College where she developed her love of the Irish language through the inspiration of Fergal McGuigan, and also a graduate of the University of Ulster where she studied the Irish Language. Up to the time of her illness she was a Bunscoil teacher.
Charlene will be sorely missed not only by her colleagues at CLG Bhriain Óig Baile Stíl but also the wider GAA community.

The club is looking for volunteers who would be willing to give some time to help with coaching in our local schools. This would involve helping the coaches who are already in the schools to promote Gaelic football and our club. We also would like these people to assist with setting up some local school blitzs. If you think that you can give up a couple of hours during school time at any stage between February to June contact Dominic at brianogscoaching@ hotmail.com or let any coach within the club know. Those interested should have the Child protection &Foundation courses. This would be of great help for the club’s development in this important year, as well as individual development.
Our first Carol Service & Switch On was very well attended on Sunday evening, and hopefully we can build on this event for next year.
Our Club would like to thank all of you on behalf of SVP for the many generous donations handed in before and during our Carol Service. Congratulations to our choir, headed up by Sarah Flanagan, family and friends who helped create a lovely festive atmosphere. We would like to also congratulate our special guest Luke Harkin who switched on our Christmas tree and Christmas lights.
The prizes winners of our £1 Draw were, 1st prize £200 Niamh Durnin, 2nd prize £75 Michaela Wilson and 3rd prize £50 Brian Rabbett. A big thank you to all who supported this by buying tickets. We would like to thank Omega for sponsoring the Christmas lights and tree, and also the Steering Group members for their great efforts to date.
The Childrens’ Christmas Party took place today at the club, with over 140 children as well as Santa Claus who arrived with a lift from his friends on the fire engine!
