Under 8s will meet this Saturday at our Clubhouse for St Patrick’s Day Art Workshop 10.00am to 12.00noon. Wednesday Gaelic Fundamentals for P1 – P3 will take place indoors at the Clubhouse from 5.30 pm – 6.15pm, parents and adult help will be needed. All under 8s will return to Saturday morning outdoor training on Saturday 24th March at Leafair 3g pitch.
The club dinnerdance was held on Saturday in the City Hotel. The club would like to thank everybody who attended, a great night was had by all. This year, the inaugural Charlene Griffiths Memorial Award was presented to the ladies player who exhibited most, the qualities that made Charlene such a valuable member of Steelstown Brian Ógs. This award was won by Órlaith Logue.

This is really important as the more help we have, the more the children benefit. In April we hope to run child protection & foundation coaching. Getting involved in the fundamentals programme is a great way to develop your interest and to share the enjoyment of sport with your children. Steelstown Under 14s have a challenge game with Craigbane Friday night. All players should meet at the clubhouse at 6.20pm. Help with transport would be greatly appreciated. We welcome Dungiven for the first round of the Feile na nOg on Sunday morning at Thornhill. The seconds are travelling to Ardmore for their first round game Details of times will be sent on Teamer. Indoor training is back again next Tuesday from 7.00 until 8.30pm.
U8′s come back this Saturday, 18th Feb at our clubhouse. We are taking part in the St Patrick’s Day parade this year and for the next few weeks we will be preparing props and banners. Meet at clubhouse from 10 – 11:30. We will have a resident artist to help coordinate our works of art. All welcome.

U10 training is now on at the Leafair pitch from 10am to 11.30am on Saturdays and all new boys and girls are very welcome. Please dress appropriately for outdoors.

Training for all girls continues indoor at Thornhill from 6pm – 7:30pm every Wednesday. This session is open to all female players. Can all girls bring £2 and a bottle of water. Outdoor training for all U14, U12 and U10 girls this Saturday 18th February from 10 am to 12 noon at the astro pitch at Leafair, bring £2 and a bottle of water. Steelstown Brian Ogs are currently setting up a new U12 girls team for the year ahead. Club membership fees for 2012 are now due and should be paid by 18th March.
Players’s membership fees will be collected at the various training sessions from U8′s – Seniors.
Family/ Individual Adult membership is £60 (this can be paid in full or by direct debit) and includes entry into £100 monthly draw.
Child membership is £10 (anyone under 18 whose family are not part of the Family Membership ). The family membership offers great value. New members are always welcome. A new Irish Language class will start next Tuesday, 7 February 2012 at Steelstown Brian Óg’s. It will be an 8 week course taken by Sean Heraghty. The class is for beginners and it will cost £3.00 and will include a cup of tea. Anyone interested should come along next Tuesday night and join in!
The club dinnerdance will take place on Saturday 18th February in the City Hotel. The event will reflect on the 2011 season at Brian Ogs, which was one of the most successful for the club with the senior team gaining promotion to division 1 for the first time ever, the reserves winning the intermediate reserve league and the ladies teams who had their best ever year and contested numerous finals.
Guests on the night will include Derry manager John Brennan, Eoghan Rua manager and winner of BBC Sports Unsung Hero Award Sean McGoldrick and Derry County Chairman John Keenan. A great night is in store and there are sill some tickets left, priced at £25.
