Ulster GAA have just announced scholarships for GAA members applying for Ulster University’s Irish Language Diploma from September 2016 in what is the fourth year of this collaboration with Ulster University. Over 70 scholarships have been awarded to date and it is likely that this commitment from Ulster GAA will benefit a further 30 learners in the year ahead.
Just a reminder that all coaches/volunteers require vetting. If you are 16-18 years written parental consent is required. All vetting has to be sorted by our children’s officer Maria Forester so please contact her on 07710240780 if need be.
Steelstown Brian Ógs GAC club will host its Annual Golf Classic at City of Derry Golf Club on Sunday 29th May 2016.
Thank you to all who supported this event in recent years, each year we are increasing the number of teams and again this year we hope to grow the entries and prizes.
The format is Stableford competition with great prizes on offer (over £1500 worth) as well as nearest the pin, longest drive and other prizes on the day. There will be specific prizes for the best ladies team and non GUI teams. All proceeds go towards the running costs the club and our teams.
We are asking you for your support and hope that you will be able to enter a team in this year’s Golf Classic. Entry Fee is £100 for a team of 4 or £60 a team if members of City of Derry. If you are unable to enter a team you might consider sponsoring a Tee or Green for £30 or sponsoring a prize instead.
