Steelstown U15 girls team continued their good run of form with a good win away to a spirited Castledawson team on Saturday. Steelstown fielded a relatively inexperienced team that comprised of six U13 players. The younger girls showed great determination and a high level of skill to ensure that they were not over awed by the occasion. Regular U15 player Derbhla Wilson was outstanding in the middle as was her playing partner Blanaid Doherty who is really getting into her stride and is getting better with every match played scoring 6 super points. Aoife Laverty is starting to play her best football of the season from the half forward line, but most plaudits have to be given to the youger girls, Clodagh Laverty was super at left half forward scoring and setting up attacks time and time again, Emma Donnelly had another super game at corner forward finishing a well worked move to the net. Toni Cregan had another super game for Steelstown at the back and Caitlin Wade produced the complete defenders game winning countless ball, snuffing out attacks and setting up many forays into the Castledawson half. All in all a great day for the up and coming talent in Steelstown GAC
